Education Policy Analyst

UnidosUS is seeking a Policy Analyst to join its Education Policy Project, which aims to increase the school readiness and achievement of Latino students through policy and program solutions. Housed in the highly respected policy analysis and civil engagement division, the Education Policy Project has a track record of influencing policy change, advancing work at all phases of the policy process including development, legislative debate, and regulatory action. As a leading advocate on education policy encompassing the perspectives of Latinos and English language learners, UnidosUS has led or worked in coalition with organizations on legislation such as the reauthorization of Head Start and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), among others.

The Policy Analyst, Education Policy Project is responsible for engaging on issues related to the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act and issues related to postsecondary education, including the reauthorization of HEA, in the Policy and Advocacy component. The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative, critical thinker; have strong interpersonal skills; have solid writing and communications ability; and, share a deep commitment to advancing equity on behalf of vulnerable Latinos.

Deputy Vice President (DVP), Unidos Properties, LLC

UnidosUS is seeking a Deputy Vice President (DVP) to provide the primary day-to-day leadership for Unidos Properties, LLC. Unidos Properties, LLC is a newly formed, fully owned LLC of UnidosUS. The LLC manages the UnidosUS Headquarters office at 1126 16th Street NW, Washington, DC. UnidosUS occupies the building, as well as multiple other tenants (currently five others). The DVP leads a team responsible for the day-to-day facility operations and services, as well as all operations of the LLC. The DVP also oversees the Asset Manager and building management company for maintenance activities for the UnidosUS Headquarters. The position ensures assets are operated and maintained in a cost-effective manner while providing a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment.

The DVP develops plans, budgets, controls costs, coordinates service providers, staff activities, and is a change agent for the implementation and management of performance for the building. Leveraging organization skills, problem solving, and creative thinking, the DVP will resolve escalated issues, drive continuous process improvement and team development in a dynamic environment. The position provides regular performance feedback, development, and coaching to direct reports and will work closely with the UnidosUS CFO to drive consistency and govern the performance. Collaborative interaction with internal and external customers is required to ensure seamless delivery of these services while meeting the highest level of Gold Standard services available.

Senior Policy Analyst, Economic Policy Project

The UnidosUS Policy and Advocacy team is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to work out of the Washington, DC office. The Senior Policy Analyst will be a member of the Economic Policy Project and will help to advance a policy agenda that creates economic opportunities for Latino families. The Senior Policy Analyst will develop and drive a policy agenda that works to eliminate barriers to asset-building; reforms banking and lending policies to include more robust consumer protections; supports efforts to raise wages and improve working conditions for Latinos; and defend and expand tax provisions that benefit Latino working families.

This position will be responsible for identifying promising ideas, particularly in the areas of either banking/lending and consumer protection or wages/working conditions and tax provisions. The Senior Policy Analyst will also work with colleagues to plan and conduct rapid-response and long-term analyses of data, programs, and emerging issues.

The Senior Policy Analyst will also write policy papers, issue briefs, and congressional testimony in a variety of lengths and formats for diverse audiences. This position is also responsible for convening an effective network of civil rights organizations, community leaders, researchers, and policymakers to effectively frame a federal economic policy agenda that invests in the future and targets policy solutions to the most vulnerable in our society.

Success in this role also requires the Senior Policy Analyst to collaborate with colleagues in multiple internal disciplines, including Communications, Civic Engagement, Legislative Affairs, and the Policy Analysis Center.

STEM Program Manager

The STEM Program Manager should possess a deep affinity for the organization’s mission and commitment to extend quality educational opportunities to Latino youth. Specifically, the STEM Program Manager will work to expand and enhance the organization’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programmatic portfolio, increase organizational visibility in the STEM field and manage STEM related partnerships. Director, Policy Analysis Center

The UnidosUS Policy and Advocacy team is seeking an experienced Director, Policy Analysis Center. The Director of the Policy Analysis Center is responsible for working in consultation with senior leadership in the Policy and Advocacy component to set overall strategic goals and objectives for UnidosUS policy analysis activities. This individual will work to build substantive depth in a range of policy issues including education and health; analyze new and emerging policy issues that affect the Latino community and think creatively in support of the development of policy recommendations and solutions. In addition, the Director will coordinate, develop, and participate in public policy forums, summits, briefings, and other events where relevant policy matters are discussed. This will include serving as a spokesperson on Latino policy priorities and representing UnidosUS priorities in internal and external meetings and before congressional staff, policymakers/experts, and issue stakeholders.
