DACA Resources to Help You Navigate the Application Process

In recognition of the second anniversary of DACA, we’ve been sharing with you stories about DACA recipients and how they have benefited. Today, we’re sharing a list of some of the most important resources out there for those who already have DACA status or for those who are interested in finding out more.

Immigo: One of the newest apps to hit the market is “Immigo.” It’s an app designed to give anyone helping immigrants, the most up-to-date information about changing immigration laws and policies. It is also equipped with an easy-to-use location feature to find legal assistance on immigration-related issues. The brand new app was developed with Immigration Advocates Network (IAN) and was launched at our 2014 Annual Conference last month, with the generous support of Verizon. Immigo works with iphone and Android devices and can be downloaded from Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.

Pocket DACA: Launched just last year, Pocket DACA is an excellent resource for anyone looking to start the DACA process. The app, also available in iTunes and Google Play stores, allows DACA applicants to perform a self-screening so they’ll better understand their eligibility. It also includes directory of immigration legal service providers in all 50 states.

WeOwnTheDream.org: The website for the “Own the DREAM” coalition is a treasure trove of information for all things DACA. The goal of the coalition, and the site, is “…To help aspiring Americans brought to this country as children take advantage of the opportunity to apply for DACA and work permits.” WeOwnTheDREAM.org includes an extensive list of resources for applicants. It also provides news on special events, information for connecting with other DREAMers and a toll-free hotline to connect with a live person. Anyone interested in DACA would do well to make a stop by “Own the DREAM” site today.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) DACA Toolkit: USCIS has just issued its own new DACA toolkit. Similar to WeOwnTheDREAM.org, the USCIS toolkit is the federal government’s effort to offer information on how to navigate the DACA process. It includes a handy FAQ section, informative flyers for navigating the application process and for avoiding scams. The USCIS toolkit has a great list of federal government resources related to DACA.
