Responding to the Coronavirus pandemic

ICE should suspend all immigration raids during the Coronavirus crisis and to make testing and treatment available to undocumented people to stop the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of the American public. Compassionate and commonsense immigration policies are necessary during this crisis.

See what we’re fighting for in this video:

  • We will monitor the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE to ensure they follow the announcement ICE made to focus enforcement on public safety risks and individuals subject to mandatory detention. We will also monitor to ensure that no immigration enforcement actions will take place at or near health care facilities.
  • We call on DHS to prioritize the arrest, detention, and removal of significant public safety threats only.
  • Considering disruptions at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, we call on the agency to issue automatic extension or renewals of any work permits that expire this year.
  • In any emergency and stimulus packages, we call on Congress to reject new funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection enforcement operations, given the record funding levels these agencies already received in recent years.
