On January 18, UnidosUS hosted a virtual town hall, “COVID-19 Vaccines: Your Questions Answered,” which focused on providing our community with crucial and accurate information and answers to their most frequently asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccines and the current vaccination rollout plan. This town hall was possible thanks to the generosity of our presenting sponsor CVS Health.
Moderated by Telemundo Anchor Nicole Suarez, this conversation included three trusted experts from different fields, who provided their knowledge and expertise:
- Sree Chaguturu, MD., SVP and Chief Medical Officer, CVS Caremark, CVS Health, whose leadership to enhance the quality of care and expertise in vaccines was invaluable to our conversation.
- Carmen Vergara, RN-BSN, MPH, Chief Operations Officer of UnidosUS Affiliate Esperanza Health Centers in Chicago, Illinois. Esperanza Health Centers is currently doing heroic work in Chicago by providing COVID-19 testing and vaccines to the Latino population.
- Governor Jared Polis of Colorado, whose leadership has been exemplary during the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in his state.
The town hall ended with a conversation between UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía and Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, Chair of the Biden-Harris COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force about the administration’s strategy to guarantee equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines.
