Latinos, COVID-19, and Social Belonging

This event has already taken place. | Thursday, February 24th, 2022 | Online

The COVID-19 pandemic has created significant challenges for the Latino community, particularly for Latinos living in immigrant families. For many, feelings of inclusion and belonging in the country have been deeply tested. As our nation moves toward recovery, we must listen to the stories and voices from our communities to design policies and programs that will build a greater sense of inclusion and well-being among all Latinos.

This webinar will share UnidosUS’s latest research on “Latinos, COVID-19, and Social Belonging: Voices from the Community.” The report, authored by Dr. Patricia Foxen, Deputy Director of Research, provides an in-depth exploration of how the COVID-19 crisis has affected feelings of social inclusion and exclusion in Hispanic communities across the country. Guest Affiliate speakers Lupi Quinteros-Grady, President and CEO of the Latin American Youth Center and Barbara Cesar, Director of Education of Centro Campesino, will then discuss local initiatives to increase social belonging and resiliency during a time of crisis.
