Workforce Development

Latinos are the backbone of America’s workforce. We want them to thrive in today’s economy and be ready for the jobs of tomorrow.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed in the workplace

We’re committed to ensuring Latino jobseekers can access family-sustaining careers and the training they need to grow. This includes expanding access to digital tools, industry-specific training and wraparound supports that reflect the realities our communities face, especially for those disconnected from school and work.

UnidosUS partners with Affiliates, community-based organizations and employers to design and deliver high-quality training programs in high-demand industries like clean energy, technology and advanced manufacturing. Whether someone is pursuing a college degree or taking their first steps back into the workforce, we meet them where they are.

We equip Latino jobseekers and entrepreneurs with the digital access, technical skills and career navigation support needed to succeed, and we strengthen the capacity of our partners to do the same across their communities.

Workforce Development & Affiliates

The UnidosUS Workforce Development team supports Latino workers in accessing meaningful careers through demand-driven training programs, culturally responsive services and digital inclusion efforts. Our initiatives connect jobseekers to high-growth fields through pre-apprenticeships, credentialing and upskilling opportunities.

We build the capacity of our Affiliates and partners to deliver impactful workforce programming that prioritizes:

  1. Increasing access to and completion of high-quality and culturally responsive training programs connected to in-demand and emerging industries.
  2. Influencing employer talent practices to focus on skills-based hiring and continuous employee development.

Together, we are building a future in which every Latino has a real chance to succeed.

Investing in digital skills

Equitable access to technology and digital skills is a foundational need for Latinos and other communities of color navigating the modern job market.

Expanding digital skills, broadband access, and technology use is essential to closing opportunity gaps for Latinos and other communities of color. We work across sectors—community organizations, government, and industry—to ensure jobseekers can fully participate in education, the workforce, and civic life.

Promoting skills first practices

We push for skills-based hiring and the removal of biases from the hiring process. Focusing on what candidates can bring to the table — not just their degrees or connections. This systems change approach opens pathways for underrepresented workers and helps employers access a broader, more diverse talent pool.

Explore Our Core Programs

We strengthen the ability of UnidosUS Affiliates and other community-based organizations to deliver high-quality job readiness and sector-based job training programs by providing financial support, culturally and linguistically relevant curricula, programmatic technical assistance and process evaluation.
