UnidosUS Announces Promotions for Senior-Level Staff Members

WASHINGTON, DC— UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization, is announcing the promotions of Johanna Greene to the position of Deputy Vice President, Finance, and Clarissa Martínez-de-Castro to Vice President, Latino Vote Initiative.

“The promotions of Johanna and Clarissa position UnidosUS for growth and add expert support to two organizational priorities: ensuring our financial strength and growing Latino voter empowerment and engagement. Johanna’s focus on collaboration, strategic solutions, and continuous improvements will bolster our Finance team, which is essential to investing our resources towards the most meaningful impact for our community. Additionally, our focus on creating opportunities to expand and elevate our Latino vote efforts has become increasingly important to advancing our mission. We look forward to leveraging Johanna and Clarissa’s leadership in their new roles,” said Janet Murguía, UnidosUS President and CEO.

Additional details regarding these changes to UnidosUS’s Leadership Team are below:

  • Clarissa Martínez-de-Castro has been promoted to Vice President, Latino Vote Initiative, a new organization-wide effort to elevate the importance of conducting continuous, year-round voter empowerment and engagement activity. Clarissa has worn many hats over the course of her 25-year career at UnidosUS, working at the federal and state levels; on a mix of policy and programs; and on longstanding areas as well as designing and/or implementing new initiatives. With Clarissa’s vast experience, she will develop a three-year strategy to produce measurable results in narrowing gaps in voter registration and participation as well as Latino civic engagement, leveraging the assets and capacity of the organization and the Affiliate Network towards amplifying Hispanic political power.
  • Johanna Greene has been promoted to Deputy Vice President, Finance. Johanna has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting, including 11 years with UnidosUS. In this new leadership role, Johanna will be positioned to support the financial aspects of cross-functional collaborations, which combine program, policy and Affiliate efforts towards impact on specific issues.
