Struggling to Stay Home Latino Renters in the COVID-19 Pandemic
In this issue brief, UnidosUS examines the lasting effects of systemic housing discrimination on communities of color, including disparities in rent burdens and housing affordability.
This brief also illustrates a vivid and painful picture of Latino renters’ fragility in the current economic crisis and to their vulnerability to eviction amid a public health crisis. Finally, this paper provides recommendations to policymakers on how to mitigate the immediate and long-term impact of the pandemic on all renters, including Latinos.
