Latino Jobs Report Latino Unemployment Rate Remains High at 8.4%

Fact Sheet

The November Latino jobs report explores the impact that slow-growth and continued job loss are having on Latinos ability to recovery from the current economic crisis. With millions of jobs still having not recovered in the service and retail industries where Latinos disproportionately made up the workforce prior to the pandemic, it is clear the permanent job loss and long-term unemployment will continue into 2021.
This report also explores the direct impact of COVID-19 on Latinas, who have found themselves at the nexus of the economic and health crisis’. Latinas have been among the most impacted populations by job and income loss, issues that have only been exacerbated by historic disparities that have kept Latinas in low-wage jobs where they often don’t have access to the benefits or wages they need to weather an economic crisis.
