As the youngest and fastest-growing segment of the U.S. population, Latinos are essential to meeting the demands of the U.S. labor market. Employers recognize the importance of recruiting young Latino talent, but many report difficulty recruiting, hiring, and retaining Latino candidates. This disconnect has contributed to relatively high rates of unemployment and underemployment of Latino millennials, despite their improving educational outcomes. This brief highlights the findings of focus groups with Latino millennials and employers. Based on this research, NCLR offers recommendations on how employers can better recruit and retain young Latino talent.
